PAUL TRAN is an Asian American is an Asian American activist, historian and spoken word poet from Providence, RI. He’s represented Brown University at the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI), where he won “Best Poet” and “Pushing the Art Forward” in 2013. Paul is also the co-founder of the Gravediggers Poetry Collective, a weekly workshop for emerging writers of color, and assistant coach for the ProvSlam youth program. With support from Kundiman, Coca-Cola and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Paul’s research and performance examines the complex relationships between race, empire and the production of knowledge. He’s particularly interested in war, sexual violence and intergenerational trauma. You can learn more about him at his website.
